On October 17, the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival kicks off !.
The 26th Tokyo International Films will be held for 9 days from October 17 to 25 this year, mainly at Roppongi Hills.

Chinese film maker Mr. Chen Kaige serves as Jury President for the International Competition. Me. Chen is one of the great director who directed Palme d'Or winner “Farewell My Concubine”, ”Killing Me Softly”, and great influential films..

The film festival will screen 94 films. Those will be shown under the following 5 main sections; Competition, Special Screenings, Asian Future, Japanese Cinema Splash, and World Focus.

Opening event is “Green Carpet”. Gorgeous stars and producers gather on the Green Carpet on the street alongside Roppongi Hills.

Mr. Tom Hanks from opening screening “Captain Philips”, the director of “The Bling Ring” Ms. Sofia Coppola, and her father Francis Ford Coppola will walk on the carpet. Mr. Robert De Niro in “Malavita” will join the carpet too. Mr. De Niro will visit Japan for the first time in the last 6years.

Premiere Stage Greeting, Presentation, Q&A, and various interactive sessions with actors or directors will be held with the screening during the film festival.
Please feel free to take the shuttle bus, if you would like to visit TIFF after attending JCS. The shuttle bus is free for ID holders.
