The vibrant energy of Southeast Asia is now a spotlight but what kinds of movies and TV shows are making a hit there? Are movies and TV shows from around the world, including Japan, among them? This year, The Japan Foundation Asia Center launched an initiative called "Film Culture Exchange Projects" in collaboration with UNIJAPAN. We will conduct various exchange programs until year 2020, the year of the Tokyo Olympic/Paralympics.
In part of this project, we will invite 30 professionals from Asean film-distribution companies and TV stations to TIFFCOM this year. In this seminar, 5 selected panelists will discuss about the current situation and future outlook of the film-TV market in Southeast Asia.
