Seminar & Pitching Contest

Seminar & Pitching Contest in order to develop in overseas expansion for young filmmakers. In the seminar, Hollywood veteran producer, Andre Morgan, will talk about the possibilities of Japanese films overseas throughout his experiences in Hollywood and China. In the pitching contest, a trip to Hollywood and other prizes will be given to winners.

We invite Andre Morgan as the panelist of the Masterclass Seminar. He partnered with Albert S. Ruddy in founding The Ruddy Morgan Organization, who produced more than 70 films, hundreds of hours of television winning multiple awards including Oscars, Golden Globes and national awards of excellence around the world (including the movie “Million Dollar Baby” which got best picture, best directing and best adapted screenplay). His Chinese films (“Perhaps Love”, “The Warlords” and “Protege”) also attributed him for several awards.

As the pioneer who actually built the bridge linking the Chinese and American Film industries, he will talk about the possibilities of Japanese films overseas throughout his experiences.

1.Invitation to FILM IMMERSION COURSE IN L.A.
MPA will give winner an award of Film Immersion Course in L.A. The winner will be invited to Hollywood for networking with studio executives, entertainment lawyer, and talent agents.

2.Invitation to Pitching Event at Asian Pacific Screen Awards
The winner will be invited to MPA APSA Academy Film Fund at Asian Pacific Screen Awards and pitch the project. The Fund supported The Academy Award for Best Foreign Picture, Asghar Farhadi’s “A Seperation”.

Besides, SCREEN INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION AWARD FOR FILM PROJECTS AT TIFFCOM 2018 will be given to all finalists.
