The New Talent Category targets feature film projects (live action or animation) that have the potential in domestic and international markets. Project exhibitors will take part in a pitching session that will allow for networking opportunities and lead to business meetings. UNIJAPAN will assess development plans and award the most promising project with development cost support.
Schedule- Applicants will be given an opportunity to pitch their projects in front of an audience.
- Visitors may request an individual business meeting.
- All chosen applicants will have their project information published on the TIFFCOM 2011 website.

We expect to see producers from Japan and abroad, investors, sales agents, distributors, and talent-related agencies. Visitors are required to register for a TIFFCOM 2011 ID.
Feature-length live action or animation projects that have potential as an international co-production. Overseas projects must be co-production with Japan.
Number of SelectionsAround 5 projects
Conditions for Participation- Applicants must have the knowledge and expertise necessary to give a pitch, and be available to participate in the pitching session. The pitching session will be conducted in English and Japanese.
- If an individual meeting is scheduled, the project exhibitor must be able to attend.
Projects will be screened and selected by a committee made up of third parties.
Project Development AssistanceUNIJAPAN will assess development plans and award the most promising project with development cost support of up to 1,000,000 JPY. Development costs incurred on or before March 31, 2012 will be applicable. Aggregate amount of applicable receipts submitted will be reimbursed in May 2012.
Please fill out the Project Application Form and send to the TIFFCOM 2011 Project Market Organizer by Friday, September 2, via e-mail. Additional materials such as a proposal, artwork, or treatment may be attached in PDF format. The maximum is five pages on A4 size paper.
